4º The Sacred Heart of Mary

Cupid agreed, but when he saw her, he fell deeply in love with her beauty, and maintaining anonymity he visited her every night, in which they both enjoyed a forbidden love with ardor. And with such passion, the boy was finally able to grow up to be a handsome young man.
It represents the union between the spiritual and the carnal to reach the elevation of the Soul.
But since Psyche was human and Cupid a "little god", "impediments" were put on her: she could never look her lover in the face. As expected, one night she could not resist ... and Psyche was punished with the cold abandonment of her young lover. These were his words:
"I couldn't resist your beauty. And I loved you ...
I loved you, you know it. Now the punishment for your betrayal will be to lose myself."

The story is very moving and has been sublimated by great artists throughout history. Third day in ROME: Saint John Lateran
Wednesday, October 15, 2013, I arrive at the Basilica of Saint John Lateran looking for an explanation of the mystery of the Sacred Hearts and the Immaculate Idem and all its gore iconography.
