THE ENDOCANNABINOID SYSTEM(ECS)LARGEST NEUROTRANSMITTER SYSTEM IN THE BODY, NOT TAUGHT IN MEDICAL SCHOOL.

The Endocannabinoid System (ECS)

The largest neurotransmitter system in the body, that is not taught in medical school.

“Our Endocannabinoid System [ECS] regulates everything in our body. Our Immune system, digestive system, cardiovascular system, nervous system, endocrine system, skin, skeleton, everything in our body is homeostatically regulated by our Endocannabinoid System. And yet it’s not taught in medical schools? There’s something a little flawed here...”

“Mammalian cells have machinery, the so called Endocannabinoid system (ECS), to produce and metabolize their own cannabinoids in order to control homeostasis of the gut in a rapidly adapting manner.”

The endogenous cannabinoid system—named for the plant [cannabis] that led to its discovery—is one of the most important physiologic systems involved in establishing and maintaining human health. Endocannabinoids and their receptors are found throughout the body: in the brain, organs, connective tissues, glands, and immune cells. With its complex actions in our immune system, nervous system, and virtually all of the body’s organs, the endocannabinoids are literally a bridge between body and mind. By understanding this system, we begin to see a mechanism that could connect brain activity and states of physical health and disease.”
-Bradley E. Alger, Ph.D.

"Honest doctors can no longer practice honest medicine, we have a complete healthcare system failure and an epidemic of misinformed doctors and misinformed and harmed patients."
- Dr. Aseem Malhotra

"The body also produces its own cannabinoid chemicals [fat like lipids].  They play a role in regulating pleasure, memory, thinking, concentration, body movement, awareness of time, appetite, pain, and the senses (taste, touch, smell, hearing, and sight)."

“In the last 25 years a good deal of information has been accumulated on the main components of the "endocannabinoid (eCB) system", a rather complex ensemble of lipid signals ("endocannabinoids"), their target receptors, purported transporters, and metabolic enzymes. It has been clearly documented that eCB signaling plays a key role in many human health and disease conditions of the central nervous system, thus opening the avenue to the therapeutic exploitation of eCB-oriented drugs for the treatment of psychiatric, neurodegenerative, and neuroinflammatory disorders.”

“The endocannabinoid (eCB) system consists of ligands, such as anandamide and 2-arachidonoyl-glycerol (2-AG), receptors (e.g. CB1, CB2), transporters and enzymes, which are responsible for the ‘on-demand’ synthesis and degradation of these lipid mediators. There is a large body of evidence showing that eCB are markedly increased in response to pathogenic events. This fact, as well as numerous studies on experimental models of brain toxicity, neuroinflammation and trauma supports the notion that the eCB are part of the brain's compensatory or repair mechanisms.”

"These interfaces are referred to as “the” blood–brain barrier. It is widely believed that in embryos and newborns, this barrier is immature or “leaky,” rendering the developing brain more vulnerable to drugs or toxins entering the fetal circulation from the mother."

“An accumulating body of evidence suggests that the endocannabinoid system plays a significant role in pathophysiological processes and impacts disease severity. ”CB2 activation by JWH133 reduces the influx of BAL cells and production of cytokines/chemokines while alleviating lung pathology. "The empirical evidence reviewed strongly supports the role for dysregulated cannabinoid signaling in the pathophysiology of social functioning deficits observed in brain disorders, such as autism spectrum disorder, schizophrenia, major depressive disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder and bipolar disorder. Moreover, these findings indicate that the endogenous cannabinoid system holds exceptional promise as a biological marker of, and potential treatment target for, neuropsychiatric and neurodevelopmental disorders characterized by impairments in social functioning."

“Between 1998 and 2003, acetaminophen was the leading cause of acute liver failure in the US. There are also hundreds of related deaths every year — though keep in mind that millions of people take drugs with acetaminophen, so these more extreme side effects are rare (especially if you're only taking them in small doses occasionally). Still, for the drug's minimal pain-killing benefits, the risks may not be worth it.”

Definitions

Endocannabinoids are fat like lipids made on demand by the body metabolized from a balanced diet of omegas however a number of things can affect the production of endocannabinoids in the body. Endogenous (endo) meaning made from within. Other terms used for Endocannabinoids are lipid mediators and lipid messengers.

Phytocannabinoids plant derived cannabinoids (also fat like lipids similar to the lipids made by the body) made abundantly on the cannabis plant, and also found in smaller amounts in hemp and other plants.

CB1 - Cannabinoid Receptor 1
CB2 - Cannabinoid Receptor 2
