Eaters of Children :
The Pedocracy Exposed
by Giovanni Augustino “Johnny” Cirucci
Chapter 23
Primæ Noctis
27 May 1993: Father Gerald Ridsdale, accompanied by Bishop George Pell,
appears in Melbourne Magistrates Court for molesting 8 boys — Ridsdale is
given a 3 month sentence.
Because pedophilia is a crime that shames its victims, accurate statistics are
impossible to keep.
Because the Devil’s Simulation has emplaced its members in key positions
within media, law enforcement, politics and the judiciary (not to mention
military and intelligence), when numbers are finally discussed, they are always
far short of reality.
Therefore, when al Jazeera reports that Australia’s “Royal Commission into
Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse” has chronicled —
... 4,444 alleged incidents of sexual abuse by Catholic priests between 1980
and 2015.
The inquiry also heard that 1,265 priests and religious brothers and nuns
had been accused during a 60-year period ending 2010.
[795]
— we can assume those numbers are even worse than they appear ... far worse.
The “Commission” also heard the patented claim that only 6-to-7% of clergy
abuse children.
The number of victims, alone, makes this assertion ludicrous.
If one factors in the number of clergy who are privy to the crimes yet refuse
to report them to authorities, that number gets inverted: 93-to-94% of Roman
Catholic clergy are aware of, or involved in criminal activity. Those who don’t
directly participate collude with the perpetrators and shield them from future
victims and authorities.
The very fact that a “Commission” or “Committee” or “Board” of politicians
has been called to deal with a problem that isn’t its purview (unless the lengthy
process of legislation is involved) shows that the system is corrupt.
If a country is suffering from a wave of heinous crime instituted by a foreign
entity, the bodies most effective for dealing with them are the judiciary, law
enforcement at all levels and even the military.
Those same foreign agents have, until now, misused the military to do the
job of law enforcement and acclimated the citizenry to a Police State. But
imagine the military being used to address pedophilia committed by the Catholic
Church — a sovereign political body — against the people of any nation
suffering from it.
Now apply the twisted rules those same foreign agents have used to fabricate
needless wars towards one that is needed. An invasion of Italy — with or
without that government’s permission — culminating in seizure of all Vatican
personnel and property.
Thanks to the many crimes of Vatican agents in the West, it is not without
precedent!
In consequence of uncalled-for militarization of all major nations and
Western ones, in particular, the forces needed are already prepositioned.
Of those Western nations, Australia, in particular, seems well-controlled by
the Vatican and her Jesuit special forces.
The 28th and, at this writing, current Prime Minister is Anthony John “Tony”
Abbott; a Jesuit-trained Roman Catholic. His alma mater, St. Ignatius College,
was reported in 2015 as having the Rector of the school — Stanislaus Hogan —
arrested because police found an unbelievable one thousand, five hundred
images on his computer of children being sexually abused.
[796]
The Prime Minister and Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce attended
Riverview, Education Minister Christopher Pyne attended St. Ignatius and
Joe Hockey [Australian Ambassador to the United States] is an Old
Aloysian. ...
During Hogan’s 50 years as a priest, he served in all four Australian Jesuit
schools, including Riverview and St. Aloysius in Sydney, and Xavier
College in Melbourne. the Prime Minister and Agriculture Minister
Barnaby Joyce attended Riverview, Education Minister Christopher Pyne
attended St. Ignatius and Joe Hockey is an Old Aloysian.
South Australian District Court judge Peter Brebner yesterday said some of
the images Hogan had downloaded were among the worst types of child
pornography, including photos of semi-naked or naked boys aged between
12 and 16 tied to a bed or being subjected to bondage, and of children
engaged in fellatio and penetrative abuse. ...
The court heard Hogan had been collecting the books and magazines since
the 1970s... ~ The Australian
[797]
What wasn’t addressed by the media or law enforcement were the venues
from which the well-placed, senior Jesuit was able to amass such a shocking
amount of illegal materials.
The chief executive office of any nation is usually held by a puppet who has
little will or agenda of their own. If they do, and that agenda does not comport
with the Devil’s Simulation, they receive the “Kennedy treatment”.
As a result, looking for Roman “breadcrumbs” in high-profile positions isn’t
as important as finding them in key offices that receive little media attention.
Even so, a quick look at who have been Australia’s Prime Ministers is
telling. Here are just the last few years’ worth —
“Tony” Abbott: Jesuit-trained Roman Catholic.
Julia Gillard: Australia’s first woman Prime Minister, turned her
back on her Baptist upbringing to become an “atheist”.
[798]
Kevin Rudd: Marist College, Ashgrove
John Howard: far-Left “Rhodes Scholar”
Paul Keating: LaSalle, Bankstown
Malcolm Fraser: Magdalen College, Oxford
[cx]
The list is extensive and repetitive; far-Left, Jesuit-trained Catholics or both.
All faithfully serve the Devil’s Simulation.
Of course not every Roman Catholic is willing to commit treason, or worse,
in order to maintain allegiance with the Vatican but nearly all in prominent
positions were emplaced there because they are.
Ridsdale & Pell
The story of Gerald Francis
[cxi] Ridsdale is the same as pedophile priests
before and since.
The victims’ advocacy group, Broken Rites Australia, appears more intent on
exposing Ridsdale and Pell than “mainstream” media.
[cxii]
... the Catholic Church harboured ... child-abuse criminal — Father Gerald
Francis Ridsdale — for 30 years in western Victoria while his superiors
and fellow-priests remained ... . In 1982, when Father Ridsdale had been
abusing children for 20 years, a clergy committee (of which Father George
Pell was a member) noted that Ridsdale was being transferred away from
Victoria. Eventually, some of Ridsdale’s victims began to report his crimes
to the Victoria Police, instead of merely to the offending organisation (the
church). So, in 1993, Victorian detectives charged Ridsdale in court. He
was accompanied to court by his support person, George Pell, who had
become an assistant bishop in Melbourne. However, no bishop
accompanied the victims. Encouraged by Broken Rites, more victims later
spoke to the detectives. In his four court cases between 1993 and 2014,
Ridsdale has been jailed for a minimum of 24 years for assaulting 54 of his
victims. In 2017, after eleven more of his victims spoke to the detectives,
Ridsdale is facing court again, on a fifth batch of charges, including rape,
buggery and indecent assault.
[799]
Gerald Ridsdale and George Pell, as well as their families, have always been
close since their up-bringing in the “very Catholic” city of Ballarat, Victoria.
Ridsdale began priestly duties in 1961 while Pell continued to study abroad,
returning to join him a decade later. They even shared a Ballarat house for a
year in 1973.
Like so many other predator priests, Ridsdale began to abuse and assault
children even before his ordination — as if it was his calling.
According to church documents, Ridsdale offended against children during
his seminary training in the late 1950s and again immediately after he was
ordained in 1961. Bishop James O’Collins’s office learned in 1961 that
Ridsdale was abusing a boy in Ballarat. Nevertheless, the church (under
Bishop Mulkearns) continued using Ridsdale as a priest, putting more
children at risk. The diocese shifted the Ridsdale problem from parish to
parish but it never warned parishioners that their children were in danger.
...
Ridsdale has admitted that, even while working in his very his first parish,
he was already abusing children. The earliest of his charged offences was
for an incident in late 1961, a few months after his ordination. This victim
(“Gilbert”) was from Camperdown, in Victoria’s south-west. The court
was told that Gilbert’s father was hospitalised and Ridsdale was
“minding” the boy. ...
In some parishes, Ridsdale lasted only months or weeks. Early in his
posting at the Inglewood parish (in north-central Victoria) in 1975, he fled
from this town overnight after some victims reported his crimes to the
police, and he had to ask the bishop for a new posting. Ridsdale’s sudden
disappearance from Inglewood was obvious to his fellow priests in western
Victoria.
In the 1980s and early 1990s, Ridsdale was evacuated from the Ballarat
diocese — to spend “time-out” in Melbourne, Sydney and the United
States, to get him away from his further troubles in western Victoria. This
“time-off”, especially his overseas trip, was common knowledge among his
Victorian colleagues. Priests were always interested to learn that another
priest was getting an interstate or overseas trip.
Ridsdale also committed crimes in New South Wales and the United States.
He has not yet been brought to justice in those jurisdictions.
His interstate and overseas stints were interspersed with more postings in
the Ballarat diocese, all of which ended in more crimes.
Ridsdale was still protected by the church’s code of silence. One family
says that when they complained to a senior cleric (Monsignor Leo
Fiscalini) about Ridsdale committing buggery on their son, the monsignor
urged the family to remain silent “for the church’s sake”.
[800]
Simultaneously, George Pell was going places.
Meanwhile, Father George Pell’s career boomed. He moved to
Melbourne, where he was the rector of Victoria’s Corpus Christi seminary
(in 1985-87) before becoming one of Melbourne’s four auxiliary bishops
(in 1987). As a Melbourne auxiliary bishop, Pell was no longer associated
with the Ballarat diocese but was responsible for overseeing Melbourne’s
southern suburbs.
[801]
After 30 years of abusing children, Ridsdales crimes were finally allowed to
catch up to him.
The full details and numbers will never be known.
By Ridsdales fourth sentencing, in April 2014, his convictions involved a
total of 54 children (mostly boys, plus several girls), aged between six and
16, who were sexually assaulted between 1961 and 1987. These are not
Ridsdales only victims — they are merely those who eventually took
advantage of the opportunity to talk with detectives from the Victoria
Police and whose cases were included in Ridsdales pleas of guilty.
Although the first of these convictions was for a crime committed in 1961,
this does not mean that Ridsdale waited until 1961 before becoming a
danger to children. The significance of “1961” is that this is about the
time he was ordained as a Catholic priest, and this status gave him easy
access to (and authority over) children. It remains to be seen what he was
doing with children before he was ordained.
Only a few of Ridsdales victims have contacted the police. Other Ridsdale
victims (mostly boys, but also a few girls) have contacted Broken Rites or
psychiatrists or solicitors or (unwisely) the Catholic Church without
contacting the police.
Countless more victims still remain silent. The total number of Ridsdale
victims may amount to hundreds.
Many Ridsdale victims still remain silent because they do not want to upset
their “loyal Catholic” parents.
Others feel embarrassed about contacting the detectives. Some of the
victims in Ridsdales later court appearances said that this embarrassment
was why they had waited so long.
[802]
Also, like his predator priest peers, Ridsdale conflated “sacred” with profane
and seemed to find a religious aspect to his crimes; as if he was serving a
spiritual entity in robbing the innocence of children.
Gerald Ridsdales victims were sexually abused inside the church, in the
presbytery (the parish house), in the priest’s car, in victims’ homes, at the
home of Ridsdales parents in the city of Ballarat, during outings, and on
holidays with the priest. He molested one boy and his sister a few hours
after their father’s funeral.
Some of the offences occurred during the sacrament of Confession — while
Ridsdale would be asking questions about a child’s “sins”. After
Confession (and after the molestation), Ridsdale would perform the rite of
Absolution — an official declaration that the child was forgiven for the
child’s “sins”.
Many offences occurred before and after the celebration of Mass, First
Holy Communions, Confirmation ceremonies, weddings and funerals.
Many of the victims were altar boys.
One altar boy was even sexually abused at the altar, when the church was
empty and locked after Mass.
[803]
The pain of victims was also as it had been in other locations; needlessly
exacerbated by the dedication of friends and family to the Catholic Church.
Many victims found it difficult to tell their Catholic parents that a Catholic
priest was a child-molester. Some parents defended Ridsdale and the
church, thus alienating their own children. Some victims remained silent,
knowing that their “devout” family would not believe them. All this
disrupted the relationship between victims and their parents.
[804]
Ridsdales predations — like the crimes of his peers — were far more than
physical; they left psychological scars that sometimes never healed.
For many Ridsdale victims, this was their first “sexual” experience. And
this first experience was with a Catholic priest! This had adverse effects on
the sexual development of victims, some of whom ended up with sexual
problems.
[805]
Like his peers, no victim was off-limits.
One victim in the late 1970s was “Shane”, an altar boy, who lived at in
Ridsdales earlier parish of Apollo Bay. Ridsdale had sexually abused him
frequently while at Apollo Bay. Soon after Ridsdale was appointed to
Edenhope, the priest heard that Shane’s father died in an accident.
Ridsdale returned to the Apollo Bay district to conduct the father’s funeral
and then offered to take Shane (aged 12) and his sister “Jill” (aged 11) to
the Edenhope presbytery. The children’s mother gratefully accepted the
offer. Back at Edenhope, on the night of the funeral, Ridsdale indecently
mauled the girl and later the boy — while they were still grieving their
father’s death. Jill told police in 1994 that, about 1990, she informed a
female counsellor at the Catholic Family Welfare Bureau in Geelong about
these assaults but the counsellor did not suggest reporting the priest to the
police. Jill said she was surprised and angry about this omission.
[806]
Like other pedophile priests, Gerald Ridsdale seemed satanically-possessed
to violate the most innocent of children who showed no outward signs of sexual
maturity. Some of his victims were as young as 4 years old.
[cxiii]
Ridsdales nephew, David, would be such a child whose pain and confusion
would destroy his sexual identity.
As more victims began to point their anger at the refusal of Australian
agencies to carry out their responsibilities to protect and defend the citizenry
against any malignant foreign insurgency (for such is Roman Catholicism), the
national government acted: it instituted a “commission”.
In 2015, David Ridsdale gave an emotional testimony to the “Royal
Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse”.
[807]
David wisely began at the beginning of his troubles —
I grew up one of nine children in a large Catholic family in Ballarat. Both
my parents are from large families and there are around 50 grandchildren
on my father’s side of the family.
The religion of my parents was an all invasive force in our lives with every
aspect centred on the Catholic community. My mother was secretary of St.
Alipius Parish School and was involved in the school for over 50 years.
My parents remain committed members of St. Alipius Parish. My
grandparents lived opposite the Redan Church and my grandmother was
like a mother to all the priests who resided there. ...
My uncle (my father’s oldest brother) Gerald Ridsdale, was a Catholic
priest in the Diocese of Ballarat. Gerald was treated like a shining light on
my father’s side of the family, particularly by my dad’s mum. I believe he
represented the pinnacle of her Catholic achievement.
As a priest, Gerald held an almost supernatural level of power in our
family and exerted a great deal of control over the family. He was treated
as being better than his siblings and took full advantage of his exalted
status. Gerald was charismatic and many were in awe of him.
When Gerald came home to visit my grandmother, she would be very
frantic. For example, hours before he was due to arrive, all of my father’s
6 other siblings had to get their cars off the driveway and everything had to
be prepared for Gerald to drive smoothly in.
For David, the abuse didn’t end with his uncle. There was inappropriate
behavior from the clergy at his school, as well.
In 1974, I went to St. Alipius Boys Primary School for grade 3. My grade 3
teacher was Brother Gerald Leo Fitzgerald. Every Friday at the end of
school, Brother Fitzgerald lined up our class, and we all had to kiss him
goodbye, or potentially be strapped. Some kids got “special” kisses,
meaning he used his tongue. This happened to me a couple of times and I
would see him linger with other boys.
Although David may have escaped invasive sexual abuse, those he had
concerns over did assault other children.
While working in Ballarat East, Ridsdale also acted as chaplain at the
four-classroom St. Alipius parish school, where he found like-minded
company. Brother Robert Best who taught grade 6, Brother Edward
Dowlan who taught grade 5, and Brother Gerald Leo Fitzgerald (now
dead) who taught Grade 3, were all child-abusers. So was a later teacher
there, Christian Brother Stephen Francis Farrell. All, except Fitzgerald,
were later convicted of sex crimes. During Dowlan’s County Court trial in
1996, the prosecution alleged that three St. Alipius boys were each sexually
abused by Dowlan, Best and Ridsdale.
One former St. Alipius altar boy said in his police statement, that after he
was indecently assaulted by Ridsdale, the priest gave him a piece of Holy
Communion bread (as used in Mass) as a reward. Another former altar
boy said that Ridsdale indecently assaulted the boy while the boy confessed
his sins to the priest during the “sacrament of Confession”. ~ Broken
Rites
[808]
There were other similar incidents of impropriety for David Ridsdale but he
buried them, especially because they weren’t as severe as what his own uncle
had been doing to him.
When David’s mother became pregnant again with another sibling (like a
good Catholic woman), Father Gerald Ridsdale began taking David for
weekends to “help out”. He was only 11 years old when the abuse began.
Gerald Ridsdales assaults were brazen, especially in the company of other
clergy. Their acquiescence incensed David.
Father Ridsdale again exploited his trust by taking temporary custody of a
boy whose parents were divorcing. He did as he pleased amongst the devout
Catholics.
I remember that while we were at my grandparents’ home Gerald stood the
boy on the table and was giving him Eskimo kisses and kissing him
inappropriately in front of the members of the family who were present. I
cannot recall exactly who was there, but it was more than just my
immediate family. I remember being disturbed that nobody said anything
to Gerald at the time. I remember as my parents were driving home from
my grandparents’ house, someone commented that Gerald’s behaviour
with the boy was weird. Nothing else was said.
Everything that Father Gerald Ridsdale did to his own nephew was predatory
and premeditated.
[cxiv]
Gerald sexually abused me on a regular basis until 1982, when I was 15. ...
Gerald wasn’t secretive about his love for boys or in having boys around
and touching us. He would use his power and prestige as a priest to
convince children and adults to trust him.
When Gerald started paying more attention to our family he began buying
gifts for my parents. One gift I remember he bought us was a colour TV. It
was the first colour TV we owned. Much later my dad said, “I always
wondered why he was so nice to us.” I think one of my parents’ biggest
issues looking back was realising that Gerald groomed them to get to me.
This was Gerald Ridsdales carefully-considered modus operandi.
Early on, it became obvious that Gerry Ridsdale was obsessed with boys.
He maintained an “open house”, making his presbytery a drop-in centre
for boys. He acquired a pool table and he was an early possessor of colour
television, a microwave oven, an electric typewriter, a video-cassette
player and computer games — all these became a magnet for boys.
He would often invite a boy to stay overnight. Many “staunch Catholic”
parents permitted (and even encouraged) this, believing that a priest is a
good role model. But the boy would find that he was forced to share a
double bed with Ridsdale.
Sometimes Ridsdale took his victims far away from their families — on
trips to other parts of Victoria, such as the presbytery at picturesque Apollo
Bay. Even after leaving a parish, he would sometimes re-visit a family,
perhaps a year later, to take their son on an outing, during which he would
abuse the boy.
He also took boys to White Cliffs in far-western New South Wales, where
he had a mining right in an opal region.
A significant proportion of Ridsdales victims came from large families or
families where the father was ill or dead or working away from home or
doing shift work. A busy mother would gratefully accept Ridsdales offer to
“help” by taking one of her sons on a trip or to stay at his presbytery.
At his various parishes, Ridsdale acted as a visiting “chaplain” at local
schools, thereby gaining access to more boys. ~ Broken Rites
[809]
Although David Ridsdale was not subject to sexual abuse when he began
attending St. Patrick’s College (also run, as St. Alpius was, by the “Christian
Brothers”), he was physically abused and he knew of instances were other
students were sexually assaulted.
David disclosed the painful effects of his uncle’s abuse and how it destroyed
his sexual identity.
It was a long time before I knew I was being sexually abused. I just didn't
know at the time.
After Gerald abused me, I was left alone with feelings and ideas I did not
understand, with no-one to talk to. The Church was a leader in the social
idea that gender and sexuality was a simple binary choice. In my
experience, if a male did not present heterosexual traits he was prone to
ridicule and Isolation. I felt I was completely alone and unable to tell any
adult what was happening, especially as I started to struggle with my
sexuality.
Shockingly, David’s own family members colluded with “Father Gerald” and
enabled the abuse.
From the age of 15 I told a close family member on at least 5 occasions
that I had been abused by Gerald. By the fifth time I bluntly said, “Gerald
has been molesting me”. Rather than respond to my comment the close
family member just said “I hope one of your sisters would return to the
Church one day.” It was as if they did not hear what I had just said.
As David matured, he found the courage to speak out. What he received in
return was the numbing realization that predation by Catholic clergy upon
Australian children was as pervasive as a virus.
When I was about 16 or 17, I started telling my peers about my abuse. I
had been working with people of my age in youth and social programmes
at the YMCA and issues of abuse had been raised which triggered
memories and a new understanding of what had happened to me. I began
to confide in my fellow volunteers and, almost without fail, all of them said
that some form of abuse had happened to them. At that time, I had a
perception that this was a normal part of society.
As David began to consider building a family of his own, he was horrified at
the possibility that he would become his uncle.
Seeking consolation and counsel, he called a family friend.
I didn’t know what to do. I was terrified of ringing the police, and I was
terrified to go public with my story. I decided to ring George Pell. ...
I’ve known George Pell since I was born. He was a family friend. He used
to attend church services and activities when he was an assistant parish
priest at St. Alipius. We continued to see him, even when he headmaster at
St. Aquinas Teachers’ College and School. Pell was an avid swimmer and
I would see him often at either Eureka Stockade or YMCA pool. I have
called him George from since I was a kid. I never recall calling him
“Father”. I chose to phone George on that day for one reason, he was the
only human being in the Church who I believed was still a friend and that I
could trust. ...
I told George that I had been abused by Gerald. His first reaction was
“Oh. Right”. There was no shock. His tone then became terse relatively
quickly and I could sense anger in his voice. ...
I had been clear to George that I was concerned about my grandmother
and was seeking a private process that could assist me as the pain and
distress was overwhelming. George then began to talk about my growing
family and my need to take care of their needs. He mentioned how I would
soon have to buy a car or house for my family. I remember with clarity the
last three lines we spoke together.
Me: Excuse me, George, what the fuck are you talking about?
George: I want to know what it will take to keep you quiet.
Me: Fuck you, George, and everything you stand for.
It was clear to David that George Pell was also a willing enabler of his
friend’s abuse, even of Ridsdales own family.
George was the first person in the Catholic Church whom I officially told
about my abuse by Gerald.
In 1994, when I was working at a private psychiatric Hospital in Brighton
run by St. John of God nuns, I saw George Pell for the first time since our
conversation in 1993. George came up to me and said “Oh David, how are
you going?” He did not ask if I was alright, or if I needed help, or if he
could do anything to help? He had had plenty of opportunity to call me
and help me, but he never did.
In the mid-1990s, I saw George Pell again at a Ballarat forum after
Towards Healing was introduced. The forum was supposed to provide an
overview of the Church’s response to the historical abuse. Pell seemed
surprised that the attendees did not believe that the Church had been
unaware of the conduct of its clergy. I called him a liar there but I was
actually the quiet one compared to some of the other individuals present. I
recall one man said that he wanted to kill Pell and the other attendees had
to calm him down.
I now understand that this same man has committed suicide.
The reaction of George Pell and other clergy steeled David to report what he
had experienced to the Police. It just so happened that they were in the process
of collecting statements from other victims. They seemed eager to help David
Ridsdale have his accusations added to the prosecution ... until that time arrived.
As the case drew nearer the police asked me whether I would agree to drop
the charges that Gerald would not plead guilty. The reasoning for this I
was told was to avoid the need to give evidence at a trial and so Gerald
could be sentenced and jailed as soon as possible and so they could release
his name to gather more evidence against him. I agreed to drop half the
charges against Gerald, and as a result he was charged only the more
minor offences against me.
Gerald was convicted and sentenced for sexually assaulting eight boys,
including me, on 27 May 1993. He was sentenced to two years, three
months’ imprisonment. He served 3 months. ...
My trust in institutions and authority was a shaken after this.
In an attempt to help other victims cope and come forward, David began
giving media interviews. There was immediate backlash from Catholic laity and
clergy.
This pushed him toward civil proceedings against “the Church”, especially in
light of the paltry sentence his uncle received — 3 months for abusing only 8
boys.
The Catholic Church played dirty pool and David’s own lawyers helped
them.
Soon after commencing proceedings, I was told by my parents that Bishop
Mulkearns who was the Bishop of Ballarat at the time, held a meeting with
my parents and encouraged them to get me to drop the case. This meeting
was held without my knowledge. My parent told me that Bishop Mulkearns
refused to acknowledge any inappropriate conduct on the part of Gerald.
The Church made me an offer of $10,000 to resolve the proceedings. My
lawyers, Williams Winter & Higgs, advised me that if I did not accept the
$10,000 offer I would be dragged through a court case that I would never
win “not in a million years”. They went on to advise that I would end up
with a $60,000-$100,000 bill which would “destroy my family’s and my
life forever.” At that time, I was a terrified 25 year old with absolutely no
support from anyone. I rejected this offer.
The Church made me a second offer of $30,000. I begrudgingly accepted
this second offer after I was made to feel scared and convinced that the
Church’s legal status as a noncorporate entity meant they could not be
legally challenged.
Again, David’s family attacked him as a “liar” and “gold-digger”.
My cousin, who was also abused by Gerald told me that he has been told by
family members that if he ever took any money or compensation from the
Church for the molestation, then anything he ever bought with it would
forever remind him of the abuse. One of my aunts that still visits Gerald in
jail claims she does so in honour of her mother.
With the Church being such an integral part of my family's life, the fallout
from revelations against Gerald has permeated every aspect of our family.
The lack of understanding of the impact of abuse and the shame of Gerald
makes it painful for them to discuss it. This inadvertently making me feel
very much alone to deal with the damage it has caused me.
David was further shocked to learn of how the Catholic Church controlled
“secular” institutions like law enforcement, even in his own family.
At my grandmother’s funeral, one of my aunts said to me “I’m so glad it’s
finally out. I’ve known for so long”. I replied “Sorry, what?” She said
“Oh well, you know in Edenhope when it got too much and we got told
about it”. She then told me that she and her husband, who was a
policeman at the time, had helped move Gerald quietly out of Edenhope. I
reacted harshly towards my aunt as Gerald was abusing me at that time.
My older sister was standing next to me. My aunt was very surprised at my
reaction and became upset.
Neither his responsibility as a law enforcement officer nor the fact that
“Gerald” had raped children within the family were enough to keep David’s
Police Officer uncle from aiding and abetting the pedophile priest.
He was, after all, Catholic.
In colonial America, Roman Catholics were forbidden to vote because their
allegiances were questioned; would they vote in the best interest of Americans or
of Rome?
Today such restrictions are held up as proof of a “Byzantine”, prejudicial
past. It is clear, however, that they were completely vital.
For David Ridsdale, the abuse ran far beyond what his priest uncle did to
him.
I have been asked when did the abuse stop, but my response is that it never
has stopped.
What Gerald did was the result of a pathetic man unable to make correct
choices. The combative approach from the Church and their efforts to
paint me as a liar were just as painful to my life as the abuse itself.
Discovering that the Church leaders were aware of his abuse of others has
shattered my trust in social institutions.
The impact of my abuse has been a complete invasion of every aspect of my
life. The upbringing I received in the Church ensured my naivety was so
great I was unaware of what Gerald was doing to me. My fear of being
different and a sinner in the eyes of the Church meant that I was sure it was
me doing something wrong.
My personal sexual journey was completely disrupted and poisoned by the
actions of Gerald. My inability to trust anyone enough to tell them was a
result of the Church dogma and supernatural regard of its leaders. When I
told my father this, he agreed and said that that sadly I was probably right
and that no-one would have believed me back then.
In the face of painful consequences, David Ridsdale has chosen to bravely
keep hoping in and assisting “official inquiries”.
I was asked to sign a confidentiality agreement when I did receive money
from the Church.
This made me feel that the Church was offering to buy my silence. I decided
to tell the truth, no matter what. I have lost a great deal from going public,
but I know that my actions in 1993 and beyond have helped in a small way
to lead to this Royal Commission, and for that I am grateful.
Despite his connections to Gerald Ridsdale, George Pell continued to rise in
the Catholic hierarchy. In 2003, Pope Saint John Paul II gave him his
Cardinalcy. In 2014, Jesuit Pope Francis made him Cardinal-Prefect of the
Secretariat for the Economy; the third most powerful post in the Vatican, in
charge of all Rome’s finances.
When “secular” Harvard wished to train its students in “leadership”, they
were sent to learn it from George Pell. What Pell told the students and media
showed that he either lives in an alternate reality or has an unending reservoir of
gall.
Cardinal Pell, prefect of the Secretariat for the Economy, spoke just before
giving his speech on Principled Leadership to a group of 20 people who
are among Harvard University’s graduating class of 2017 and who
traveled to Rome for a four-day “Harvard Vatican Leadership Summit.”
... the event was held at the Pontifical Lateran University and hosted
students from various backgrounds at Harvard, including the business, law,
divinity, medical, and dental schools.
In addition to Cardinal Pell, other key figures participants have met with
during the summit include Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro
Parolin; Vatican Secretary for Relations with the States, Archbishop Paul
Gallagher; Cardinal Peter Turkson, president of the Pontifical Council for
Integral Human Development; and Cardinal Giuseppe Versaldi, prefect of
the Congregation for Catholic Education.
In his comments to CNA [Catholic News Agency], Cardinal Pell outlined
the key principles that ought to guide business and economic decisions,
saying that no matter what, “you must be aware of the common good.”
“Think of the whole of society...” he said. “Have some real understanding
of what justice is. Have a special sensitivity for those who are less
fortunate, those who are poor.”
[810]
Perhaps George Pell made his outrageous statements because he was keenly
aware of how “justice” has been kept from the hundreds of thousands of
children who have been eaten by the Dragon of Rome — many at Pells’ own
hand.
When Harvard’s doctors, lawyers and “Protestant” preachers receive their
“secular” degree few will know they were indoctrinated in Communism by the
Vatican but such was the intent of putting them in the highly-respected “public”
school.
The relationship between George Pell and Gerald Ridsdale has been
compared to Bernard Cardinal Law and Father John J. Geoghan ... or Bernard
Law and Paul Shanley ... or Bernard Law and James Porter ... etc.
The accepted process for addressing Catholic clergy who have preyed upon
children for Rome’s agents in media, justice and law enforcement is that low level priests can be outed but hierarchy can not.
Hence, Bishops, Cardinals and Popes are treated as if they have remained
pure through their entire careers yet they rise from the same pool that provided
heinous predator priests and they have all done their best to protect and enable
those predator priests.
This is made easy for the Vatican when victims choose to bring the crimes to
“the Mother Church” instead of law enforcement or social services.
Such was the case with “Phil”, an altar boy molested by Cardinal Pell even
before his ordination.
Australia’s Catholic Church hierarchy received a complaint in 2002 that a
trainee priest (George Pell) had sexually abused a twelve-year-old altar
boy (named Phil) in 1961-1962 at a holiday camp for boys on Phillip
Island, south-east of Melbourne. According to a church document, Phil
has alleged that, on several occasions, the trainee priest George (then
about 20) thrust his hand down the inside of Phil’s pants and got “a good
handful” of the boy’s penis and testicles; and, on other occasions, George
allegedly tried to guide the boy’s hand into the front of George Pell’s
pants. By the year 2000, when Phil was aged 50, he realised (from
television news footage) that the trainee priest George had risen to become
an Archbishop. Phil was shocked — “he did not think it right that someone
who had behaved indecently towards children should lead the church,” the
church document says. ...
In 2002, the hierarchy paid a senior barrister, Mr. Alex Southwell QC, to
examine (and report on) Phil’s complaint. Archbishop George Pell (who
was indeed at the altar boys’ camp) denied committing any abuse. Mr.
Southwell’s report concluded that the former altar boy “appeared to speak
honestly from an actual recollection”. Mr. Southwell said he was not
persuaded that the former altar boy was a liar as alleged by Pell. ...
The complainant [who is referred to as “C” in Mr. Southwell’s report]
alleged that he was not the only boy at the camp who was abused by
George Pell. C alleged that he witnessed a friend of his (referred to as
“A”) being molested by “big George”. C told George to “fuck off”. A and
C later protested by lighting a glass fire near the camp. A died in 1985,
and therefore he could not be questioned by the Southwell inquiry. ~
Broken Rites Australia
[811]
If the Cardinal-Prefect of the Secretariat for the Economy was reaching down
the pants of little boys before he was even ordained, what can we assume about
the rest of his time since then?
As with so many other victims, “C” paid a price well after George Pell was
done with him.
Beginning in his teens, C’s life was disrupted. He developed a problem
with alcohol and gambling. In his early twenties he got into trouble with
the law, serving time in jail for alcohol-related offences.
[812]
Obviously, Gerald Ridsdale wasn’t the only pedophile priest protected by
George Cardinal Pell. Another priest, equally as evil and vicious, was Kevin
O’Donnell.
One of Australia’s most notorious paedophile priests, Father Kevin
O’Donnell, committed sexual crimes against children throughout his 50-
year career in Melbourne Catholic parishes while his superiors and
colleagues looked the other way. In his final years, he even received public
praise from one of his superiors, Bishop (later Cardinal) George Pell ... .
Eventually some of O’Donnell’s victims (with help from Broken Rites)
contacted the police and got O’Donnell convicted and jailed. Later, more
people came forward with complaints about Father O’Donnell (including
Anthony and Chrissie Foster, whose two young daughters encountered
O’Donnell in his final parish). After all this exposure about Father
O’Donnell, Archbishop George Pell hired a public relations firm to paint
Pell as a pioneer in “helping” victims. Therefore, Anthony and Chrissie
Foster asked Pell to grant proper compensation to help their two damaged
daughters, but Pell’s lawyers tried to defeat the Fosters (instead of
“helping” them). The story of the Fosters is told in the second half of this
Broken Rites article.
O’Donnell is dead but his numerous victims — and their families — still
bear the scars of his crimes.
Father Kevin O’Donnell was a child abuser from 1942 to 1992. He fitted
Masses, weddings and funerals in between his sex-abuse activities.
The Catholic Church now admits that O’Donnell was a child-abuser from
day one. Broken Rites has seen a typed transcript of an interview that Mr.
Peter O’Callaghan QC (sex-abuse commissioner for the Melbourne
archdiocese) had with an O’Donnell victim on 23 March 2003. In the
transcript, Mr. O’Callaghan commented that O’Donnell was engaged in
sex abuse from the time he was ordained — and (said Mr. O’Callaghan) he
did it in every parish he was in.
During his career, the Melbourne church authorities were told of
O’Donnell’s crimes but chose to keep him in the ministry, thus inflicting
him on further victims. Some of O’Donnell’s fellow-priests knew that he
was a danger to children but they remained silent. Certain other priests,
when consulted by O’Donnell victims, just “didn’t want to know about it”.
Instead of sacking O’Donnell, the Melbourne archdiocese retained him in
parish work until he retired gracefully from full-time ministry in 1992, aged
75, after clocking up his 50 years of sexual abuse. On his retirement, he
was given a parting tribute by Archbishop Frank Little.
The archdiocese then conferred on him the distinguished title Pastor
Emeritus (meaning “retired with honour”) — despite his record of sexual
abuse. In 1993, O’Donnell was still serving as a part-time relieving priest
at several parishes.
Beginning in late 1993, Broken Rites exposed the church’s cover-up of
O’Donnell. In 1995, he pleaded guilty to child-sex crimes and was jailed.
But, even after he was jailed, the church authorities failed to remove him
the priesthood. They continued to list “Reverend” Kevin O’Donnell (in the
next edition of the annual Australian Catholic Directory) as a
“supplementary priest of the Melbourne archdiocese”. ~ Broken Rites
Australia
[813]
Despite the fact that Kevin O’Donnell was well-known
in “the Church” for being a pedophile, he received nothing but praise from
George Pell and his peers.
Broken Rites has obtained a video tape of a confirmation ceremony at
Kevin O’Donnell’s Sacred Heart parish in Oakleigh in 1989. On this tape,
Auxiliary Bishop George Pell (then responsible for Melbourne’s southern
suburbs, including O’Donnell’s parish) praised the work of Father Kevin
O’Donnell.
Near the end of the ceremony, Pell thanked all who helped to organise the
ceremony. He then told the parishioners: “And I would like to
congratulate Father Kevin [O’Donnell] and Father Michael for all the
work they are doing here. It is obviously a great and strong parish with a
proud Catholic tradition, and I know you will work to maintain this just as
your priests do, and I look forward to many, many more years of work
from Father O’Donnell in the church here.” ...
The O’Donnell case was transferred to the Melbourne Magistrates Court,
and John Kevin O’Donnell appeared there briefly on 7 September 1994,
charged with 32 incidents of indecent assault at four parishes, involving
seven boys and one girl. Broken Rites representatives were present in the
courtroom. ...
After the September 7 hearing, a priest in one of his former parishes asked
the congregation to “pray for Father O’Donnell” but did not mention the
victims.
Some Melbourne priests in late 1994 discussed the possibility of issuing a
joint public statement, supporting O’Donnell. However, a better-informed
priest (who knew “Damian”) warned his colleagues that massive evidence
was mounting against O’Donnell, and this was likely to result in a
conviction.
[814]
The indoctrination of Roman Catholicism meant that pedophile priests
continued to receive aid from even their own victims and the victims’ families.
In response to being raped by O’Donnell, one young girl immersed herself
even further into his religion, allowing it to rob her of her youth.
A female victim (“Mary”, from the Seymour parish) was sexually abused
for three years from the age of 13 when helping O’Donnell conduct late afternoon catechism classes for State School children in the early 1950s.
To escape O’Donnell, Mary entered a nunnery at 16 and remained a nun
until she was 25. The loss of these vital years had a devastating effect on
Mary’s later life.
Mary told police: “While I was still a nun, I told a Catholic priest, from
the Jesuit order, about O’Donnell but he didn’t want to know about
it.”
[815]
Even more sinister was O’Donnell’s access to children in “secular”
organizations like the Boy Scouts. He would violate children there and,
obediently, even Boy Scout leadership took the matter back to “the Church”.
One victim, “Michael”, from the Dandenong parish, said that he and his Scout leader officially reported O’Donnell’s sexual abuse to the VicarGeneral of the Melbourne archdiocese, Monsignor Laurence Moran, in
1958-59. ...
Michael says that, after this, Auxiliary Bishop Arthur Fox ... interviewed
him and urged him to remain silent about the sexual incidents.
For 35 years, Michael presumed that he was O’Donnell’s only victim. But
in early 1994 he was shocked to see the media reports about O’Donnell
being charged with assaulting another boy [this was Damian, the victim
who had contacted Broken Rites]. Michael then contacted the police,
becoming the second victim to make a police statement.
Michael told the detectives in 1994 about his scoutmaster’s 1959 complaint
to the archdiocese. When O’Donnell was charged in 1994, O’Donnell was
given details of the evidence against him, including the information about
the scoutmaster. In October 1994, while church lawyers were considering
how best to defend O’Donnell, the church’s Melbourne vicar-general
(Monsignor Gerry Cudmore) sent a priest to interview the scoutmaster.
After this interview, the priest wrote to Cudmore on 31 October 1994 with
some good news — the priest “assured” Cudmore that the scoutmaster
does not intend to give evidence in the criminal proceedings. Thus, the
church’s cover-up would not be revealed in court.
[816]
The next example of enablement defies description.
“Damian” (at the Hasting parish in the 1970s) said he was unable to tell
his parents about O’Donnell’s abuse because his parents were loyal
Catholics and he did not want to upset them. When Damian got married in
the early 1980s, his mother insisted that Father Kevin O’Donnell should
perform the wedding. Damian reluctantly consented but he is still angry
about this.
Damian said: “About 1986, I complained to two priests in other parishes
that I had been molested by a priest but they didn’t want to know the
name of the offender. I also had some counselling in 1986 with a nun,
who immediately wrote to the archdiocese about O’Donnell, but the
archdiocese ignored the letter.”
Damian eventually told his mother about O’Donnell and she wrote a letter
of complaint to the archdiocese but the church authorities allowed
O’Donnell to continue ministering at Oakleigh until he retired at age 75 in
1992.
[817]
If the good Catholic mother demanded of the sexually abused son that he
give O’Donnell the right of primæ noctis
[cxv] would he have agreed to that too?
As in Gerald Ridsdales trail, the Prosecution was very helpful ... to “the
Church”.
... the prosecuting authorities decided not to wait for more victims to be
interviewed but to go to court immediately with the existing batch of signed
victim statements. ...
The prosecution dropped all the other incidents, including some more
serious charges involved oral and digital penetration. The dropped
charges would have incurred a longer jail sentence. ...
In the Melbourne County Court on 11 August 1995, Judge Murray Kellam
sentenced John Kevin O’Donnell to a total of 39 months jail, with a
minimum of 15 months behind bars before parole.
[818]
This meant that O’Donnell was quickly released to get back to his mission:
defiling the innocent for Rome.
O’Donnell was released from jail in late 1996. He was still listed as a
priest in the mid-1996 Official Directory of the Catholic Church in
Australia (in the Supplementary List of Diocesan Priests, page 142) and he
still held the title of “Pastor Emeritus” (retired with honour).
...
The charges in court were confined to offences between 1946 and 1976 but
the additional complaints (after the court case) included children in his
final parish, Oakleigh, up until O’Donnell’s retirement in 1992. ...
After O’Donnell retired from full-time parish work in 1992, he continued to
associate with boys. In addition, he had access to girls at the Oakleigh
parish primary school...
[819]
At no point in his career did Kevin O’Donnell stop abusing children and, to
the end, he continued to be enabled by Roman Catholic families who seemed to
offer their children to him.
As well as being the Parish Priest, O’Donnell had also been the
“chaplain” at Oakleigh Sacred Heart Primary School. This role gave
him the right to roam around the school and its playground. He could
request to have any child sent to him to help him do chores at the church or
in his presbytery. He also would see a child in private for “counselling”.
One such child was Emma Foster, whose years at Sacred Heart primary
school coincided with O’Donnell’s final years there. Later, during the
1990s, Emma developed into a disturbed teenager and she eventually
attempted suicide several times. After the jailing of O’Donnell, Emma
disclosed that O’Donnell had sexually abused her at the primary school.
Emma had remained silent about this during her school years because she
knew that she was prohibited from saying anything negative about the
clergy. O’Donnell’s eventual disgracing removed this prohibition, leaving
Emma free to make her disclosure.
[820]
“Devastated” by the rape of their daughter, her devout Catholic parents took
the matter to the “Mother Church”.
Emma’s parents (Anthony and Chrissie Foster) were devastated. In the
late 1990s, Anthony and Chrissie lodged a complaint with Melbourne
archdiocesan sex-abuse commissioner Peter O’Callaghan QC.
[821]
After finding that O’Donnell had exercised his right of primæ noctis and
stolen their first daughter’s virginity, Anthony and “Chrissie” received an
apology.
After a thorough forensic examination of the case, Commissioner
O’Callaghan officially ruled that Emma had indeed been sexually abused
by O’Donnell. The archdiocese offered a written apology to Emma from
Archbishop George Pell on behalf of the church.
[822]
They were later “shocked” to learn that both the daughters they had offered
to the monster were accepted and abused.
Meanwhile, in the late 1990s, Anthony and Chrissie were alarmed to find
that their second daughter, Katie, was having a disturbed adolescence,
similar to Emma. Eventually it was ascertained that Katie, too, had had
been sexually abused by O’Donnell when she was at the primary school.
[823]
The painting by Broken Rites of the Fosters as heroes falls far short of the
mark. It wouldn’t be the first time that a supposed dogged enemy of the Vatican
was found to actually be loyal soldiers playing a role.
The fact is that Kevin O’Donnell was a voracious pedophile and anyone that
received any information confirming him to be as such — especially his rape of
one of the two daughters he had been in contact with — should’ve immediately
pushed the Fosters into stringent action against him with Police. Immediately
following, a thorough counseling would involve all other likely victims such as
their other daughter.
None of that was done and the two girls suffered accordingly.
By the late 1990s, Katie had started drinking to numb the pain. In 1999,
she walked in front of a speeding car, and this left her with permanent
intellectual and physical disabilities. Katie now needs full-time
supervision, with specialised helpers — an expensive on-going procedure.
For 12 years after O’Donnell’s jailing, Emma’s parents battled to keep
Emma alive as she sank into a spiral of self-destructive behaviour,
including drug-taking. But in early January 2008, Emma died alone on her
bedroom floor clutching her teddy bear, a treasured first birthday present
from her parents. She was aged 26.
[824]
Anthony and “Chrissie” Foster were as guilty of what happened to their
children as if they had done it themselves.
In fact, in many (perhaps most) of the incidents of child sex abuse, the
parents are involved in either offering, selling or directly abusing the children.[ 825]
Although the Fosters were never investigated for collusion, they did profit
from what happened.
In the late 1990s, when Chrissie and Anthony Foster submitted their
complaint to the Melbourne archdiocese about how Fr. Kevin O’Donnell
had abused their two daughters, Archbishop George Pells “Melbourne
Response” scheme offered the Fosters a small amount of compensation...
Chrissie and Anthony rejected this ... and initiated steps to tackle Pell and
the Melbourne archdiocese in the civil courts for a more appropriate
amount...
... Pell ... signed a more adequate ... settlement with the Fosters.
[826],[cxvi]
Further proof developed regarding the complicity of the Fosters in the crimes
that occurred to their daughters.
After they were lavishly paid, the Fosters went on a speaking circuit
regarding their experiences.
In 2010, “Chrissie” Foster turned it all into a book — “the harrowing, true
story of a mother’s struggle for justice.”
[827]
Apparently, in that “harrowing struggle for justice” it never occurred to the
Fosters to see O’Donnell or the Catholic Church be held to account legally for
their crimes.
Earlier this year (May 2017), Anthony Foster died of a stroke at only 64
years of age. As perhaps the ultimate red flag upon the collusion of the Fosters
with Rome, he was honored by the Australian government with a State Funeral.
[828]
Once again, the grandiose actions of “secular” Aussie authorities did
absolutely nothing to address the warfare going on in that island continent by a
malignant foreign entity.
At no point during their “harrowing struggle” did the Fosters speak
negatively about the Roman Catholic Church.
Astoundingly, the accusations against Kevin O’Donnell get worse.
“Commissions” are at least good for one thing: collecting information for
serious bodies to follow up on.
Some of that material is quite useful.
After Australia’s “atheist” woman Prime Minister Julia Gillard ordered the
impotent Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse
in 2012, former Police Woman, Professor and child advocate Freda Briggs (1930
– 2016) provided a valuable paper.
What Mrs. Briggs (née Akeroyd
[cxvii]
) found was that the problem of
pedophilia in the Catholic Church was not a matter of lone aberrant criminals but
of the entire institution.
Some priests think pedophilia does not “break celibacy” and that sins can
be confessed away, one of the nation’s top child protection experts says.
Emeritus Professor Freda Briggs, who has just published a seminal text on
child protection, says sexual abuse by a priest is “the most damaging of
all” for children and that the Catholic Church is guilty of forgiving priests
instead of punishing them. ~ News.Com.Au
[829]
Mrs. Briggs discovered that Roman Catholicism made it easy to be a
pedophile.
She says confession, which plays an important role in the Catholic Church
but is also practised in other Christian religions, made churches attractive
to pedophiles.
“Churches are psychologically attractive to sex offenders because they can
ask for forgiveness one day and offend again on another day,” she said.
“There was one priest in Victoria who admitted when caught that he had
confessed 200 times and nobody had reported him, because priests are not
allowed to report anyone who confesses in a confessional.”
Priests are not subject to mandatory reporting laws so they don’t have to
report child abusers who confess to them. Generally, a priest who receives
such a confession is meant to convince the abuser to report themselves to
authorities.
Across Australia people such as doctors, nurses and teachers, who work
with children, have to report child abuse but no Australian state or
territory has included priests in their mandatory reporting requirements.
[830]
“Confession” as a license to rape children? — We’ll call this the “Opus Dei
effect.”
Ultimately behind the crimes against children was the issue of power. The
reason why so many priests begin raping children before they’re even ordained
is that they were already pedophiles who were attracted to and recruited into the
priesthood.
UniSA [University of South Australia] Associate Professor Dale Bagshaw,
an adjunct professor in the School of Psychology, Social Work and Social
Policy, says ultimately it’s power that’s the problem, and that pedophiles
join the church because of its structure.
“It’s power and trust, manipulation, grooming and abuse,” she said.
“... a lot of pedophiles actually join the church to be in a position to abuse
children … it gives them a powerful position.”
[831]
Perhaps the most controversial figure to speak before the Royal Commission
was a woman named Fiona Barnett.
[cxviii]
She still, however, refused to give up big names.
A woman who alleges she was a child victim of the paedophile ring named
by Liberal senator Bill Heffernan [an inconsequential politician] said she
had repeatedly reported the abuse to authorities but no action had been
taken.
Speaking outside the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to
Child Sexual Abuse, Fiona Barnett called on the authorities to investigate
the alleged ring, which she believes is still operating.
Ms. Barnett alleged the ring involved hundreds of perpetrators, including a
political elite, such as a former governor-general and a former education
minister, but she did not name them.
“Throughout my childhood I was a victim of Australia’s VIP child sex
trafficking ring,” she said.
“The people involved in this elite paedophile ring included high-ranking
politicians, police and judiciary.”
— Notoriously absent from that list is the word “clergy”. —
Ms. Barnett, 45, said she had reported her abuse to health care
professionals, the NSW and Australian Federal Police and the royal
commission but felt her claims were not taken seriously.
— SPIN ALERT: the fact is that a report was made but
not acted on. The reason it wasn’t acted on
was not obvious and should not be deduced,
especially in favor of negligence over willful criminal collusion. —
“The way I have been treated for reporting the crimes I witnessed and
experienced has been far worse than my original abuse experiences,” she
said.
Ms. Barnett was critical of the scope of the royal commission, which
examines the responses of institutions such as religious groups and schools
to allegations of child sexual abuse.
“I want all of the claims pooled and I want them investigated,” she said.
“I don’t think the royal commission seems to be equipped to do that, do
you? Amongst victims, we think this is just a complete whitewash.” ~ The
Sydney Morning Herald
[832]
Like Regina Louf, Barnett being acknowledged by mainstream media (albeit
barely) is ominous.
... Fiona Barnett alleged she had been the victim of a “VIP child sex
trafficking ring”.
... Barnett took aim at the authorities, including the Royal Commission into
Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, which she described as
“disappointing”. ...
... in 1996 [Labor politician Franca Arena] named two people – retired
judge David Yeldham and former state MP Frank Arkell – as potential
paedophiles.
At the time, a royal commission into the NSW Police Service headed by
Justice James Wood was in full swing, but Arena and others believed it was
not doing enough to look at people in high places.
...
But before long, Yeldham was revealed to have lived a double life as a
homosexual, and he took his own life on November 4, 1996.
Arkell was horrifically murdered on June 26, 1998, a fortnight after
another Illawarra man, David O’Hearn, was killed in equally brutal
fashion in his Albion Park home.
The perpetrator in both cases was a 19-year-old, Mark Valera, who
claimed that both men had propositioned him sexually, and that he had
been abused by his own father.
Despite the apparent vindication of Arena’s use of parliamentary privilege,
the pressure on her continued. ~ The Newcastle Herald
[833]
Barnett bridged the gap between the pedophilia and the darkest accusations
against the Devil’s Simulation: the abuse, torture and ritual slaughter of animals
and children in full dedication to Satan.
A Jesuit “law professor” acknowledged as much to the Australian
Broadcasting Corporation.
Father Frank Brennan, a Jesuit priest and Professor of Law at the
Australian Catholic University, told the ABC last night that in the past
children were “sacrificed” for the interests of the church or particular
clerics ...
[834]
The juxtaposition of a Jesuit who “teaches law” and acknowledges the
“sacrifice” of children “for the interests of the church or particular clerics” is
chilling.
Fiona Barnett claims that she was brought into the child sex abuse and
trafficking trade by her Lithuanian grandmother, “Helen Holowczak”,
[cxix] and
her Polish step-grandfather “Peter Holowczak”.
[cxx] She states that her mother
was oblivious to the abuse, especially given that visits with “nana” appeared to
be so pleasant.
Barnett further states that her father was conditioned by his own abuse at
Dunlea Centre.
Dunlea is a “residential school” for children with “behavioral issues”. It was
founded in 1940 by an Irish priest who emigrated to Australia, named Thomas
Vincent Dunlea.
Prior to the strategic name change in 2010, it was known as “Boys’ Town
Engadine” and it was every bit the hell for children that the propagandized
orphanage in Omaha, Nebraska was.
Barnett states that her grandparents were relocated Nazis and that Slavs did
much of the “dirty work” for the Party. None of her claims can be verified
directly but such an assertion does have historical precedent.
Barnett says her problems started on her 6th birthday where she was
traumatized with a “Hunger Games”-style hunt of other children by evil men.
[cxxi] One of them bred dogs who were used in the abuse for hunting, bestiality
and to consume human bodies once the victims were murdered.
This comports with statements from other purported victims, for instance the
use of dogs in the statement of “X2”. CIA child sex slave Cathy O’Brien
mentions a similar “Hunger Games” experience of “hide and rape”. On one
occasion, her abuser was former Vice President, former Halliburton CEO Richard
“Dick” Cheney.
[835]
Barnett claims that the Australian government is in full co-operation with the
Pedocracy, including the military. This we’ve seen borne out in other instances,
not just in Australia but in all major nations — particularly in the West.
She states that the Australian government offered her as a child to Richard
Nixon.
[836]
There may be a discrepancy regarding dates: a source lists Barnett as having
been born in 1969.
[837] The assumption in her story is that Nixon was President
at the time but she does not explicitly state that. The Nixon Presidency lasted
from 1969 to 1974, slightly too early for Barnett’s timeline. There are several
variances that could still allow this accusation to be true.
Barnett says that she was brought to the Fairbairn Royal Australian Air Force
base in Australia’s national capital of Canberra (the base was decommissioned in
2007). She was brought on board Nixon’s aircraft and abused by him there.
Barnett claims that she was also abused at Holsworthy Army Base and the
Lucas Heights nuclear power plant — both have secure, secluded facilities
which were used.
She states that two key tormentors of hers were Dr. John W. Gittinger Sr. and
Dr. Antony Kidman, father of actress Nicole Kidman.
[838]
They are an odd combination unless you know what you’re looking at: both
were “clinical psychologists”.
Gittinger is renowned for having formulated a way to
assess personality traits called the “Personality Assessment System”.
It’s not a far leap to see his “research” go further into creating or
manipulating those same traits based upon external stimuli or trauma for use in
“mind control”.
It’s further validated when sources like Wikipedia acknowledge Gittinger’s
role in the Central Intelligence Agency.
John Gittinger, the developer of the PAS, worked as a psychologist for the
Central Intelligence Agency during the time he developed the PAS. Early
publications describing the PAS appeared in academic publications and
did not mention Gittinger’s employer.
[11] While the PAS has been used in
many contexts such as education and clinical work, it was developed by
John Gittinger who worked with a number of other CIA employees.
Gittinger and his PAS work were related to a wide range of projects, some
of which were part of the set of projects called MKULTRA. When there
were Senate hearings on the MKULTRA project, Gittinger was a witness
and identified as a CIA psychologist.
[12] The relationship of Gittinger, the
PAS and MKULTRA is discussed by Marks in chapter 11 of his book based
upon examination of thousands of documents.
[13] [839]
The implication that Gittinger’s association with the Central Intelligence
Agency was a “passing collaboration” is almost certainly not the case.
Equally suspicious is that Gittinger has no entry for himself and that
information across the internet is extremely scarce.
The book referenced is The Search for the “Manchurian Candidate”: The
CIA and Mind Control: The Secret History of the Behavioral Sciences by John
D. Marks.
Marks acknowledges that “mind control research” in the CIA centered
around torture and narcotics; part of the process to force Dissociative Identity
Disorder on the victim.
With one exception, the CIA’s behavioral research — whether on LSD or
on electroshock — seems to have had more impact on the outside world
than on Agency operations.
That exception grew out of the work of the MKULTRA program’s resident
genius, psychologist John Gittinger.
While on the CIA payroll, toiling to find ways to manipulate people,
Gittinger created a unique system for assessing personality and predicting
future behavior. He called his method — appropriately — the Personality
Assessment System (PAS). Top Agency officials have been so impressed
that they have given the Gittinger system a place in most agent-connected
activities. To be sure, most CIA operators would not go nearly so far as a
former Gittinger aide who says, “The PAS was the key to the whole
clandestine business.” Still, after most of the touted mind controllers had
given up or been sent back home, it was Gittinger, the staff psychologist,
who sold his PAS system to cynical, anti-gimmick case officers in the
Agency’s Clandestine Services.
[840]
More disturbingly, Marks acknowledged that Gittinger made “observations”
on children as they grew into adulthood.
From observation, Gittinger concluded that babies were born with distinct
personalities which then were modified by environmental factors. The
Internalized — or I — baby was caught up in himself and tended to be seen
as a passive child; hence, the world usually called him a “good baby.”
The E tot was more interested in outside stimuli and attention, and thus was
more likely to cause his parents problems by making demands. Gittinger
believed that the way parents and other authority figures reacted to the
child helped to shape his personality. Adults often pressured or directed
the I child to become more outgoing and the E one to become more self sufficient.
Gittinger found he could measure the compensations, or adjustments, the
child made on another Wechsler subtest [the Wechsler intelligence scale, a
standard IQ test with 11 parts], the one that rated arithmetic ability.
He noticed that in later life, when the person was subject to stress, these
compensations tended to disappear, and the person reverted to his original
personality type. Gittinger wrote that his system “makes possible the
assessment of fundamental discrepancies between the surface personality
and the underlying personality structure — discrepancies that produce
tension, conflict, and anxiety.”
[841]
Also revealed by Marks is that Gittinger’s “research” was funded and
maintained by the CIA when other sources would’ve refused.
Any one of these drawbacks might have stifled Gittinger in the academic
world, but to the pragmatists in the CIA, they were irrelevant. Gittingers
strange ideas seemed to work. With uncanny accuracy, he could look at
nothing more than a subject’s Wechsler numbers, pinpoint his weaknesses,
and show how to turn him into an Agency spy. Once Gittingers boss, Sid
Gottlieb, and other high CIA officials realized how Gittingers PAS could
be used to help case officers handle agents, they gave the psychologist both
the time and money to improve his system under the auspices of the Human
Ecology Society.
[842]
Sidney Gottlieb (born Joseph Scheider) was another “Papal Court Jew” who
worked for “Catholics In Action”. His methods were as monstrous as those of
any Nazi and they included drugging unwitting American citizens as part of his
“mind control research”.
[843]
Friends and enemies alike say Mr. Gottlieb was a kind of genius, striving to
explore the frontiers of the human mind for his country, while searching for
religious and spiritual meaning in his life. But he will always be
remembered as the Government chemist who dosed Americans with
psychedelics in the name of national security, the man who brought LSD to
the C.I.A.
In the 1950’s and early 1960’s, the agency gave mind-altering drugs to
hundreds of unsuspecting Americans in an effort to explore the possibilities
of controlling human consciousness. Many of the human guinea pigs were
mental patients, prisoners, drug addicts and prostitutes — “people who
could not fight back,” as one agency officer put it. In one case, a mental
patient in Kentucky was dosed with LSD continuously for 174 days. ~ The
New York Times
[844]
It is ludicrous to paint any such criminal activities against the American
people in anything less than what they were: a malignant foreign insurgency.
As has been done so many times before and since, the criminal traitor was
given accolades for his outrages and his tracks covered.
The C.I.A. awarded Mr. Gottlieb the Distinguished Intelligence Medal and
deliberately destroyed most of the MKUltra records in 1973.
[845]
The whitewash by media like the New York Times is, in itself, criminal.
John Gittinger, a C.I.A. psychologist who vetted Mr. Gottlieb — “one of
the most brilliant men I’ve ever known” — and worked with him for 22
years, said the agency began the tests because it was gripped by “a great
fear” in the cold war. It was afraid that the Soviet Union would corner the
market on LSD and use it as a chemical weapon or that China would
perfect the black art of brainwashing, Mr. Gittinger said.
First-hand testimony, fragmentary Government documents and court
records show that at least one participant died, others went mad, and still
others suffered psychological damage after participating in the project,
known as MK Ultra. ...
In all, the agency conducted 149 separate mind-control experiments, and
as many as 25 involved unwitting subjects. ...
The experiments were useless, Mr. Gottlieb concluded in 1972, shortly
before he retired. ...
John Marks, author of the definitive book on the experiments, “The Search
for the ‘Manchurian Candidate’” (Times Books, 1979) said Mr. Gottlieb
was “unquestionably a patriot, a man of great ingenuity.”
[846]
“Only 25 unwitting victims and it didn’t work so it was quickly shut down.”
Are there thinking, mature adults who actually buy that?
Gottlieb, a Socialist Jew, was the perfect front-man for the CIA’s Roman
insurgency.
The “Papal Court Jews” at the New York Times were happy to pin his crimes
only on him.
Mr. Gottlieb joined the C.I.A. in 1951, although not before telling Mr.
Gittinger, his interviewer, that he had been a socialist in his youth.
Two years later, the agency established MKUltra and Mr. Gottlieb was
running it.
[847]
According to Fiona Barnett, “Doctor” Antony Kidman was cut from the
same cloth as Gittinger and Gotlieb. She accompanied her posts on social
networking with rudimentary drawings that were simple, yet effective.
At the same time as Fiona Barnett says she was being tortured in this
manner, Hollywood Director Stanley Kubrick (also a Jew) was depicting them in
the 1971 movie A Clockwork Orange.
Kubrik is the same Director who brought Vladimir Nabokov’s Lolita to the
silver screen in 1962. His star, Malcolm McDowell played Caligula in Bob
Guccione’s pornographic “drama” of the same name 8 years later.
A Clockwork Orange was based upon the “satirical” novel by John Anthony
Burgess Wilson, FRSL.
[cxxii] “Anthony Burgess” wrote the screenplay for the
1977 Franco Zeffirelli TV mini-series Jesus of Nazareth. He was raised devout
Roman Catholic and educated in the “Jesuit tradition” of the Xaverian Brothers.
Fiona Barnett claims that Nicole Kidman was kept free of abuse but was
privy to it, often looking on at Barnett’s torture with a smirk.
In 1999, Kidman starred as “Alice” opposite her then-husband Tom Cruise in
Eyes Wide Shut; a movie depicting the control of world affairs by a secret
religious order that conducts evil, perverse ritual sex rites.
It was directed by Stanley Kubrick.
Kidman’s latest marriage to singer Keith Urban was presided over by the
family’s personal Jesuit, Father Paul Coleman.
[848] Together, they have two
girls, “Sunday Rose” and “Faith Margaret”.
The gossip site “CeleBuzz” admits — Faith Margaret ... was born via a
surrogate.
[849]
Given what we know, we have to ask, “Was the ‘surrogate’ willing and are
they still alive?”
Right before Fiona Barnett began to go public, Antony Kidman died
mysteriously in Singapore. The 12 September 2014 headline from the Mirror
read
—
Nicole Kidman's Father Killed After “Fall” In Singapore
[850]
—
Odd wording that isn’t explained. As of this writing, the post has no
content due to an ongoing web site “migration” ever since.
His death was reported on September 12

[cxxiii]
In spite of (or perhaps because of) the accusations that Antony Kidman was
an exceptionally-depraved, sadistic, child-raping monster, the Sydney Morning
Herald eulogized him thus —
Dr Antony Kidman: Nicole Kidman’s Father’s Legacy Of Nurture
[851]
Tony Kidman was a man of grand passions: war historian, scientist, avid
follower of political life, singer, lover of performing arts and fitness
enthusiast. Above all, Tony was a devoted family man. He was a visionary
leader, driven to help others. Fortunately he saw many of his dreams reach
fruition during his lifetime. ...
— Kidman was a dutiful Leftist. —
In 1966, Kidman moved to Washington DC to the National Institute of
Mental Health at St. Elizabeth Psychiatric Hospital [a United States
Government facility focusing on “mental health”]. During this period, Tony
and [wife] Janelle, who were always politically active, took part in antiwar protests.
Kidman had a strong moral compass. He believed those who struggled in
society should be supported by government. He often wrote to senior
politicians about injustices he witnessed at the grass roots. ...
— If Barnett is to be believed (and we think she is), this is pure
“gaslighting
[cxxiv]” by members of the Pedocracy. —
He was open-minded, accepting, kind and caring.
Despite his connections he was a very humble man. To his staff, he was a
father figure ...
— The Herald allows that Kidman had
a “heart” for “young people”. —
As the importance of early intervention in mental illness came to light,
Kidman shifted the focus of the unit to young people and commenced
research and clinical programs addressing mental health concerns in this
population.
— For his “accomplishments”, he was
“Knighted” by the Australian Government. —
In 2005 Kidman was made a Member of the Order of Australia for his
contribution to clinical psychology.
The Jesuit-mentored Kidman family weren’t the only “celebrities” mentioned
by Fiona Barnett.
I was trafficked to the USA, to Bohemian Grove where I was drugged &
raped by the Rev. Billy Graham – Richard Nixon’s pal, in a pink bubble
room. I was also made to dress up like a teddy bear and play hide, seek &
rape. I also witnessed the ritual murder of a person by politicians dressed
up in robes. I was taken via Sydney airport, in a crate like an animal. On
the way home I was drugged, raped and beaten at an exclusive, after hours,
pedo gathering at Disney world.
[852]
With more drawings, Barnett connected the dots between the military,
“Intelligence” and the Catholic Church.
[cxxv]
Another relocated Lithuanian Nazi abusing children as “science” was Leonas
Eugenijus Petrauskas (1919 — 1994). Barnett says he was “Jesuit-trained”.
[853]
A kiddie killing cult underpins the Roman Catholic Church, Engadine
BoysTown, Holsworthy Army Base, Lucas Heights nuclear reactor. Here
are the only photos I can present as evidence. First we have Leonas
Petrauskas (aka Dr. Mark) performing an abortion on me beneath
Engadine BoysTown. Next we have the statue of “Dagon” located on the
ground floor of the 6-7 story underground facility at Holsworthy, located
far from the main entrance gate. Then we have Dagon statue in fish form,
kneeling beside a murky pool, on the ground floor of Lucas Heights nuclear
reactor. Lucas Heights, like Pine Gap, are CIA facilities where the Jason
Project was conducted. Both facilities were built by the same group.
[854]
Corroborating Fiona Barnett’s disturbing narrative, the Holsworthy Barracks
are no more than 20 minutes’ drive from Boys’ Town Engadine, a.k.a. “the
Dunlea Centre”.
One of the Chaplains on post was a Roman Catholic priest named Kevin
O’Donnell.
[855]
Fiona Barnett’s blog, “Pedophiles Down Under”, lists an account by “James
Shanahan”,
[cxxvi] a purported victim. Accompanying the account are documents
that seem to corroborate Shanahan’s assertion that the Catholic Church knew all
about Kevin O’Donnell. O’Donnell didn’t stop at just raping children, he
tortured and slaughtered them, as well.
While reading this, bear in mind that the Catholic Church has accepted this
as true.
It was 1961 and I had just turned 11 years old and was attending school at
the Christian Brothers’ College in East St. Kilda, Melbourne. I was told to
leave the classroom one day and go to the brother’s quarters to see Fr.
Thomas O’Keefe for the purposes of sex education. O’Keefe was the
school chaplain and was also the assistant parish priest at Sandringham
where I was an altar boy.
It was a large dim room. There were tall windows at the end and I could
see trees outside bathed in bright summer light. O’Keefe sat next to me
and began to fondle me. I focussed on the trees through the window and
lost awareness of everything else. I had dissociated. It was something I
had learned to do to cope with the violent nature of my home life. This fact
was not lost on O’Keefe.
Thereafter, he would regularly sexually abuse me and soon introduced me
into the Satanic cult he was part of. The particular coven that O’Keefe
belonged to was led by another priest, Kevin O’Donnell, best known for his
extensive paedophilia. Looking back, it is clear that I was to be trained to
take up a leadership role in that cult.
[856]
Dissociation played a key role in the abuse of Shanahan, as it does in “mind
control”. The two are intermingled by necessity.
At 11 years old, I was beyond the usual age to start the indoctrination and
programming but I could already dissociate and I was very intelligent and
rather outgoing and so was, no doubt, an attractive proposition to them.
Dissociation is important to create alter personalities that can be trained to
do certain tasks and to contain the memories and programming separate
from the rest of the personality. This is easier done the younger the victim
is. I could already do that so I was ready to begin the training.
[857]
Again, we read of a connection between the military, “Intelligence” and the
Catholic Church.
First, I was humiliated and degraded much like happens in army boot camp only far more obscene. Then I was terrorised using dogs and guns. I
was raped on occasions using loaded guns and I was also shot at close
range with blank ammunition. On the one hand I was told I was below
worthless and could do nothing without the cult and on the other hand I
was told I was so powerful bullets couldn’t hurt me. The disorientation and
terror was used to break down my understanding of the world and my place
in it. This was to leave me mentally adrift ready for the next stage.
Next came the electro-shock treatment. I was strapped in a heavy chair
and given two batons to hold through which the shocks were administered.
A bright, dazzling light was placed in front of me. I was subjected to a high
pitched noise in my right ear and O’Donnell would yell nonsensical things
in my left ear; things like, “God is evil, Satan is good” and “Good is evil
and evil is good”.
Interspersed with these insane back-to-front statements were electroshocks. I was told that I could not feel them and if I called out, I was
further punished. (Some years ago I read descriptions of electroshock
treatment employed by the CIA in their MK-Ultra program that was exactly
the same as I experienced. There was obviously some connection with the
Roman Catholic Church and the CIA).
It was all designed to overcome my trust in my own senses and to accept
what these priests said as reality. Controlling what people think of as
reality is real power.
[858]
It is instructive and important to be exposed to the depth of evil in the
Devil’s Simulation so we will present one final graphic description because it
links an acknowledged pedophile to acts so shocking they seem to not be
possible ... but they are.
WARNING: GRAPHIC
The most direct demonstration of power over others is the stealing of their
lives. There were four murders carried out by Kevin O’Donnell that I
witnessed and that I was involved in various ways. ...
... The first was a young man who was clearly drugged though he was still
distressed so presumably was aware of his fate. He was beheaded with an
axe. After decapitating the man, O’Donnell rushed in front of the man’s
severed neck to catch the stream of gushing blood with his mouth. He then
came over to me and, dragging me by the hair, pushed my face into the
severed neck. I can still feel the hard bony vertebra contrasting with the
squishy flesh of the neck against my cheek. I was being “blooded”.
The man’s head was put on a tray and was passed around the group for
them to “Kiss John goodbye”. I took it as a mocking salute to the
beheading of John the Baptist.
— A central theme in Satanic Gnosticism disavows the
Divinity of Jesus of Nazareth as Son of God and Messiah
and substitutes John the Baptist in His Place.
This is known as Johannism.
It was the true philosophy behind why Templars denied Christ
in their inner rituals. It is clearly still practiced. —
On another occasion, a teenage girl whom I knew, was drugged sufficiently
well to show no awareness of her position or fate. She was naked and lying
face up on an altar. O’Donnell had his hand over mine and in my hand
was a knife. The knife was pressed against the young girl’s throat and
O’Donnell pressed down on my hand and quickly drew it backwards to
slash her throat, killing her in the process. Her breasts were cut off and
O’Donnell and O’Keefe proceeded to eat one each. Their faces were
pictures of delight.
An infant girl was also killed and I was blamed for her death. I was told by
O’Donnell to choose between a young boy, maybe 6 to 8 years old, and the
infant girl as to who would die. If I didn’t choose, both would be killed. I
had already seen O’Donnell kill and had no doubt he would kill both if I
did not choose. The boy was looking at me with terror in his eyes and so I
chose the infant. Instantly, it seemed, O’Donnell cut the baby’s throat. He
placed his fingers into the wound and then pushed his blood soaked fingers
into my mouth saying, “You killed her”.
The baby’s body was then cut up as you would joint a chicken. A leg was
pushed into my face and I was told to eat it. I refused. The world was
spinning around. O’Donnell, wild with rage, brandished his knife in my
face and threatened to kill me if I didn’t eat but I was happy to die. I didn’t
move or say anything. I had let go of any desire to live.
Then, O’Keefe intervened and somehow persuaded O’Donnell to not kill
me. I presume it was because others knew I was with O’Keefe and my
disappearance would lead directly to him. ...
— Essential to the Devil’s Simulation is the inverse of Divine qualities; love,
empathy, compassion. —
The last murder had the most profound effect upon me. I’m sure it was
designed to teach me that love kills; that love leads to death. This was
Marama. She was a beautiful woman and probably in her early thirties.
Her job had been to show kindness towards me and then betray me and this
happened repeatedly. “Love is not to be trusted” was the lesson.
As planned, I fell in love with her. It was not surprising because, in all my
fourteen years, it seemed to me that no one had touched me except to hurt
me. Violence had followed me through my life from my family to my school
to the cult. What was unplanned by the cult was that Marama developed a
love for me. Once O’Donnell knew this, Marama was of no further use to
the cult and was a threat to their plans for me.
Marama was naked, spread-eagled and chained down on an altar.
O’Donnell was in my face yelling at me, “Do you love her?” I was silent.
He repeated it many times. Of course, I did love her but I did not know
which way would be best to answer as I was fearful for Marama. Finally, I
said, “Yes”. O’Donnell then said, “Then, she has to die” and brought
down a hatchet onto Marama’s chest.
I will leave the description there.
[859]
The Australian Broadcasting Corporation has added some mainstream
strengthening to this disturbing narrative.
A violent and abusive priest who allegedly molested the son of cold case
murder victim Maria James was never investigated as a potential suspect
in her killing.
James, a 38-year-old single mother, was stabbed 68 times in the back of
her second-hand bookshop in Thornbury in Melbourne’s north in June
1980.
In 2013, her son Adam James revealed he was abused by a local priest,
Father Anthony Bongiorno, in the month leading up to his mother’s
murder.
Maria James murder:
* Stabbed 68 times in her Melbourne home.
* Hands bound in what police described as a “frenzied attack”.
* Youngest son abused by two local priests.
* One priest seen covered in blood on day of murder.
But Adam has told the ABC that on one occasion he was also sexually
assaulted by a second priest, Father Thomas O’Keeffe.
Both priests lived and worked at St. Mary’s Parish in Thornbury, just
around the corner from Maria James’ bookshop.
Father Bongiorno was seen with blood on his hands, arm and face around
the time of the murder.
Adam, who was 11 at the time, says he told his mother about the abuse, and
believed she was going to confront Father Bongiorno.
Police eliminated Father Bongiorno as a suspect in 2015, but won’t say
how they ruled him out. ...
... police never looked into O’Keeffe, who died in 1984.
Ron Iddles, who has investigated the murder of Maria James for many
years, believes she knew her attacker.
The James family were regular attendees at St. Mary’s Presbytery — where
Father O’Keeffe helped administer Adam’s first communion.
Now 48, Adam — who has cerebral palsy and Tourette syndrome —
believes he might have been involved in his mother’s murder.
Along with his older brother Mark, he is calling on police to investigate
Father O’Keeffe as a potential suspect.
While Father Bongiorno was an outspoken public figure, Father O’Keeffe
kept a far lower profile.
“I was actually scared of him as a young boy,” says Mark James.
“He was the cold, silent one in the background.”
— Remember the assertion by University of South Australia
Associate Professor Dale Bagshaw that child predators seek
and are welcomed into the Catholic Church. —
Father O’Keeffe had a history of violence and sexual abuse even before he
became the parish priest at St. Mary’s in 1978.
While at Doveton Parish in south-east Melbourne in the 70s, he preyed on
young children alongside a group of paedophile priests.
The ABC’s Trace podcast has spoken to many of Father O’Keeffe’s victims.
James Shanahan was abused by the priest as an 11-year-old at Christian
Brothers College in East St. Kilda.
— This is the same James Shanahan who gave a
full account at “Pedophiles Down Under”. —
“O’Keeffe came to my classroom and took me out of it for the purpose of
sex education,” Mr. Shanahan said.
“We went into the brothers’ residential quarters, into a very large room,
and he started to fondle me.”
“At that point I remember disassociating almost straight away. I
remember looking out the window, so very bright sunlight, and I just
focused on that and that’s mentally where I went.”
The abuse continued for three years.
Mr. Shanahan detailed the nature of the abuse in a submission to the
Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne in 1999, as part of the Church’s
Melbourne Response.
He described abuse of a violent, sexual, ritualistic, and sadistic nature.
The Church-appointed Independent Commissioner, Peter O’Callaghan QC
[Queen’s Counsel], met with Mr. Shanahan in 2000.
In his formal response, Mr. O’Callaghan wrote:
“I am satisfied that Mr. Shanahan was a victim of sexual abuse inter
alia by Father Thomas O’Keefe (deceased) substantially in the
circumstances described by Mr. Shanahan.”
“I confirm that the events which Mr. Shanahan describes are
extraordinary, but I have no reason or justification for doubting his
credibility.”
In 2001, James Shanahan received a letter signed by then Archbishop of
Melbourne, George Pell, which read:
“I apologise to you and to those around you for the wrongs and hurt
you have suffered at the hands of Father T O’Keefe.”
Mr. Shanahan received $33,000 in compensation from the Church for the
abuse.
Speaking to Trace, Mr. Shanahan — now 67 — describes O’Keeffe as a
“psychopath”.
...
James has a memory of his wrists being bound with cord or a rope. On
another occasion, James says O’Keeffe threatened him with a knife in his
own home.
“He raped me and threatened to run me through with this carving knife.
“He was out of his mind with rage.”
[860]
In 2015, St. Mary’s along with five other churches affiliated with Thomas
O’Keefe, Kevin O’Donnell and other pedophile priests went up in flames in a
series of unexplained fires.
[861]
It would seem the “rage” now belongs to the victims.
It is building into a conflagration hot enough to touch Rome.
